SCVOAD

October 22nd, 2007

Dear SCVOAD Partners:

Please take advantage of the SCVOAD Blog.  This Blog should give everyone an opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas.  I hope this will be another tool that can help facilitate thought and discussion.

“Spontaneous” volunteer flier

November 20th, 2007

I was reviewing this flier again, and I was thinking that the description on what SCVOAD is might be too verbose. How about a one or two, direct statement punch? Just the last line in yellow that reads,

If you want to volunteer when disaster strikes,

Register Online Today!

And maybe some questions preceding it, asking something to the effect of,

“Do you want to help your community but don’t know which volunteer organization to join, or even if you want to join a specific volunteer group? Do you just want to help without being categorized? Do you want to be able to show up on a scene of an event and pitch in wherever adn however help is needed? Then SCVOAD is for you!”

Just my thoughts…

VOAD Critical

November 23rd, 2007

After attending for some time, I find that the VOAD concept is critical for our community because it will enable all volunteer organizations in the county to seemlessly coordinate their service offerings to the County Emergency Mgt personnel in time of crisis.

It is my hope that all the volunteer organizations in the county would join with us to help better serve our community. We are stronger when we organize!!
